A new service delivered by Trainee Counsellors from Strathclyde University has now begun delivering appointments via telephone, video call and face-to-face with up to 200 hours of appointments available between now and the end of December.
Counselling is a talking therapy that involves a therapist listening to patients and helping them to find ways to deal with emotional issues. Counselling can help patients cope with a range of issues such as mental health conditions, upsetting physical conditions, difficult life events and trauma. With waiting times for similar services via healthcare and the third sector often being many months, or years in some cases, the service presents an excellent opportunity for customers to access help at an early stage. This is especially relevant during the current cost of living crisis when so many people are struggling because of loneliness and isolation.
The service is available to any Kingdom customer, with referrals being made via our Tenancy Sustainment Services. If you have any questions, would like to find out more, or would like to be referred to the service please contact the team directly at tssteam@kha.scot or contact our Customer Services Team on 01592 6339622, who can then request a callback.
