Since February 2022, every home in Scotland is required to have interlinked smoke and heat alarms. This means if an alarm goes off in one room, all alarms in the home will sound.
All our homes have interlinked alarm systems in place, but you may have friends or family who haven’t got around to installing interlinked alarms in their homes. If so, we can help.
The minimum requirements for interlinked alarms are:
- 1 smoke alarm in the main living area
- 1 smoke alarm in each hallway and landing
- 1 heat alarm in the kitchen
- 1 carbon monoxide alarm in each room with a carbon fuelled appliance such as a gas cooker, gas fire, gas boiler etc.
If your current smoke alarms are not interlinked, our Small Repairs Service can supply and fit these for you at a cost of £10 plus the cost of the alarms, keeping you safe and your property up to date with the latest regulations.
