Brad Gilbert

Board Member Joined Mar 2025

I’m a former civil servant with a background in leading government policy and delivery across housing, enterprise and local government in Scotland. Over the years, I’ve held senior roles in the Scottish Government, national agencies and frontline services in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

I’ve also chaired Boards in social care and further education sectors, with a focus on local economic development. My academic background includes a degree in Geography and a professional qualification in Housing Studies from the University of Glasgow, as well as an MBA from Heriot-Watt University.

I joined the Board to help shape bold, forward-looking decisions at a time of real change – all with a focus on making a lasting difference in communities.

Since joining the Board in March 2025, I’ve been proud to contribute to strategic planning, digital transformation, and shaping the Group’s future direction. I’m passionate about tackling interconnected social issues from poverty and inequality, to climate transition and youth opportunity.

In 2023, I was honoured to be appointed OBE for services to housing in the King’s first New Year Honours. It’s a recognition I share with the many talented colleagues I’ve worked alongside over the years.
