Kingdom Housing Association has completed its latest affordable living developments in Meigle and Balmullo.
Working in partnership with Campion, the sites are the most recent of Kingdom’s social housing developments to offer affordable living in energy-efficient, future-proofed homes.
The semi-rural locations of the brand-new houses offer communities easy access to local shops, schools and public transport, alongside stunning scenic views and plenty space.
The Meigle development has 25 Kingdom homes for social rent and is the result of investment of a total of over £5m of private funding and government grants. In Balmullo, the 19 social rent homes were financed for just over £4m through Kingdom’s private funding combined with Allia Bonds.
With both developments featuring wheelchair-access bungalows and every home fitted with an air-source heat pump, the energy efficiency features combined with accessible living mean maintenance and adaptations will be minimal, offering secure, warm homes and peace of mind for tenants.
The homes, now fully handed over to Kingdom from Campion, mark another success in the partnership.

Kingdom’s Development Manager Sean Whittet said: “At Kingdom, we’re dedicated to delivering affordable, sustainable and well-designed homes that will help to tackle the housing shortage and boost local communities.
“Building on our long-established partnership with Campion Homes, we were able to provide much needed homes in a rural area. We’re excited to see the positive impact the new homes will have for those living in them and to the wider village.”
Dougie Herd, Joint Managing Director of Campion Homes, added: “Campion Homes and Kingdom Housing Association have a successful and longstanding partnership that continues to provide families with energy-efficient, comfortable homes. We’re proud to deliver another 19 social rent homes here in Balmullo and a further 25 in Meigle, creating attractive, high-quality homes and communities for their tenants.”
At Meigle, local councillor Nicola Lennon commented on the positive impact to the local area, saying: “We welcome this development of affordable homes in Meigle. The location is excellent for residents with such amazing scenery and public services on their doorstep. Meigle Primary is nearby with safe ways for children to walk to and from school, local businesses will benefit from the boost in customers and we’re looking forward to seeing the community thriving.”
It’s expected tenants will be fully moved in this week, marking another two successful handovers for the Kingdom and Campion partnership.
