Kingdom Housing Association has won an International Community Social Responsibility (CSR) Excellence Award for the diverse range of services and activities it provides extending beyond the Association’s core activities of providing and managing affordable housing.
The award recognised the community benefits delivered by Kingdom in areas such as employment, training, education, sustainability, energy efficiency, environmental projects, regeneration and community initiatives.
Kingdom competed against more than 100 other nominations in the International CSR Excellence Awards 2017, and was presented with the winners’ trophy and certificate at a glittering presentation ceremony in The Houses of Parliament, London, on Friday.
Bill Banks, Kingdom’s group chief executive, and Nick Pollard, director of corporate support services, collected the award on behalf of Kingdom.
Bill said: “An award such as this contributes to our mission to provide ‘more than a home’ and recognises the hard work and commitment of all the staff at Kingdom, who strive to deliver added value, as part of their everyday work.”
He added: “One of our strategic objectives is to provide added value through community initiatives and this allows us to help make a contribution to improving the economic, social and environmental well-being of our tenants and people who live in the communities where we operate and we are delighted that our work in this area has been acknowledged.”
The CSR International Excellence Awards are organised by the Green Organisation and the ceremony in London was a joint CSR and Green Apple event. Kingdom received the award in the Corporate Citizenship category.
