Congratulations to the staff team from Kingdom who joined various companies from the Construction, Housing & Property sector who met at the sixth qualifying heat of national Business Fives summer season five-a-side tournament.
The Kingdom team were one of fifteen companies raising money for charity, whilst trying to gain a place in the final of the competition, which will be held later this year. Kingdom raised over £500 for their chosen charity, Epilepsy Scotland.

On the pitch, the tournament initially saw four groups of teams playing to qualify for the ‘Champions League’. Kingdom won all three of the opening games in their group fixture, with wins against Cala Homes (4 -3), Scott Bennet Associates (2-0) and Turner Townsend (3-2). They finished top of their group earning them a place in the Champions League semi finals section, along with Castle Rock Edinvar, CALA Allstars and ESPC.
Kingdoms knock out game, against CALA Allstars, was a hard fought match, with Cala winning 4-2.
The Kingdom team, who hadn’t previously played together, did brilliantly getting the results they did and said they congratulated CALA Allstars on their win and thanked the Business Fives organisers, sponsors and all the teams who played, for making it a great day.
All the Kingdom team had a great time, they arrived earlier on match day to take the opportunity for a quick practice match, which turned out to be a bit of a workout, claiming “we would’ve won the whole thing if Robin didn’t suggest we play a game between us to warm up”.
