Kingdom Group’s New City House development in Dunfermline City Centre is transforming a former hospital and office building into 32 high‑quality, energy‑efficient Mid‑Market Rent homes, delivered in partnership with Campion Homes.
The development was recently visited by the Cabinet Secretary for Housing, Màiri McAllan MSP, who was welcomed to the site by Kingdom Group Chief Executive Tom Barclay and Development and Sustainability Director Tricia Hill. During the visit, the Cabinet Secretary saw progress on the redevelopment and formally launched the latest round of the Charitable Bonds scheme, hearing more about Kingdom’s involvement in the programme.
To date, Kingdom Group accounts for 17 per cent of all loans issued through the Charitable Bonds scheme, which supports investment in affordable housing across Scotland.
The £5.3 million redevelopment of New City House will deliver 32 modern two‑ and three‑bedroom apartments, helping to meet housing demand in Dunfermline City Centre. The homes will benefit from a communal parking area, cycle storage and excellent access to local amenities.
Designed to achieve Building Control Silver Aspects 1 and 2 Standards of Sustainability, the development includes PV panels to provide zero‑carbon electricity and support energy efficiency for future residents.
Tricia Hill, Development & Sustainability Director at Kingdom, said, “At Kingdom, we’re committed to providing high‑quality, affordable homes that meet the needs of our customers while helping to build sustainable communities. The development of 32 flats in Dunfermline City Centre is a fantastic example of what can be achieved through strong partnership working. By collaborating with Campion Homes, we’ve been able to deliver future‑proofed, accessible homes for families while also giving a historic building a new lease of life.
We’re delighted to see another development that supports our mission of delivering more than a home.”
Dougie Herd, Joint Managing Director at Campion Homes, said: “We’re proud to be working in partnership with Kingdom Group on the transformation of New City House, turning a prominent city centre building into high‑quality, energy‑efficient homes that will make a real difference to people’s lives. It’s particularly rewarding to be able to showcase this development to the Cabinet Secretary and to highlight what can be achieved through strong collaboration and a shared commitment to quality, sustainability and long‑term community benefit. Projects like this allow us to apply our experience and care to deliver well‑designed homes that are built to last, while supporting the regeneration of our town and city centres.”
