Annual project tour showcases Kingdom Group’s range of homes and services across Fife

The Kingdom Group welcomed a broad range of guests to its annual project tour, showcasing new housing developments, established homes, and a range of wraparound services provided by the Group across Fife.

Kingdom Chair Linda Leslie and Group Chief Executive Tom Barclay greeted Board members, customers, and guests from the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations, funding partners and other key stakeholders in Glenrothes before embarking on a day of touring Fife.

The project tour began at the site of the former Glenwood Centre in Glenrothes where 44 affordable mixed-tenure homes, a new community hub and a community square are planned, regenerating the area following the demolition of the previous buildings in 2023.

Driving past a newly started site to the south of Hill View, Kinglassie, where 45 homes for social rent are being built alongside an established residential area of the village, the project tour then stopped at Pilgrims Way Avenue in Cardenden. Completed in 2022, Pilgrims Way Avenue won Checkmate’s ‘Excellence in Construction Award’ for Best Development and provides 45 energy-efficient homes with a diverse housing mix consisting of larger family homes, cottage flats and accessible bungalows.

In Kirkcaldy, the project tour visited Kingdom Park, where the Kingdom Group has 76 affordable homes for social and mid market rent and Viewforth Gardens, the site of the former Viewforth High School, before stopping at Hunter House, the converted Category B listed building, that provides supported accommodation with 5 self-contained flats. The accommodation at Hunter House is delivered in partnership with Kingdom Support & Care to help support Fife Council’s Rapid Rehousing Strategy and reduce homelessness in the area.

Linda Leslie, Chair of Kingdom Housing Association said after the tour, “At the Kingdom Group we’re very proud of the affordable homes we offer, the communities we help build, and the wraparound services we provide. Those wraparound services help our customers and their families thrive, supporting our mission to provide more than a home. Our annual project tour not only gives Board members a chance to see the range, quality, and scale of homes and services we provide, but it also allows us to meet the staff and other partners we work with and allows us to get to know them better as we foster those valuable relationships. I know that my Board colleagues also really appreciated being invited into tenants’ homes and having the chance to hear, first hand, their views on their home and Kingdom’s Support and Care service.”

Tom Barclay, Kingdom Group Chief Executive, added, “The scope of the Kingdom Group is about so much more than just bricks and mortar and the annual project tour highlights the genuinely life-changing work that we do. It gives us the opportunity to talk about the communities we’re working in, the jobs and apprenticeships we’re creating, and the ways we support our customers to live their best lives. But most importantly it’s a chance to have great conversations about the future and how we can work together to deliver an exceptional customer experience.”
