Kingdom Housing Association welcomed members, Board members and staff to the organisation’s Annual General Meeting on Monday evening.
Guests heard about another successful year in which Kingdom invested over £88 million in affordable housing, allowing it to complete 465 new homes and start on site with a further 376.
Kingdom’s Tenancy Support Services team continued to provide a wide range of support and advice throughout the year delivering an estimated £840,891 of financial gains for customers, and Fife Voices, a partnership project working with other social housing providers in Fife, was launched to support tenants who may be at risk of homlessness.
Those in attendance also heard how Kingdom launched alternative housing initiatives such as a co-housing community for the over 55s in Scone, a new homelessness project in Kirkcaldy, and a partnership project to provide homes for postgraduate students in St Andrews.
Linda Leslie, Kingdom’s Chair said, “Emerging from the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic highlighted the importance of an agile and resilient approach to the work Kingdom Housing Association does. Kingdom owns and manages around 6,500 homes and we take the responsibility of delivering high-quality customer service extremely seriously. Being agile enough to make rapid changes to how we work and resilient enough to deal with disruption has proved invaluable over the last year. By embracing change and remaining focused on the big picture, we have been able to achieve our strategic objectives and have another successful year.”
Linda added, “Having been elected as Chair in October 2021 I would like to take this opportunity to thank my predecessor, Freya Lees, and my other fellow Board members for their continued support. Thanks also to the management and staff for their hard work and dedication over the last 12 months.”
Bill Banks, Kingdom Group Chief Executive said, “This has been another challenging year where we have continued to work through the constraints of the pandemic. Despite the challenges, we have delivered on all of our strategic objectives. We have demonstrated agility and resilience and evolved smarter and more efficient ways of working that provide mutual benefits to customers, individual staff members, and Kingdom as an organisation. Our success over the last year has been recognised in the sector through various awards and accreditations covering all areas of work across the Group.”
Bill added, “I’d like to thank all staff across the Kingdom Group for their dedication and commitment. Thanks also to the Management Team and the Board for their support over the last year and for demonstrating exceptional leadership, which has allowed us to deliver on our mission to provide more than a home.”
