Hours:20, 25 and 30 hour posts (minumum hours contracts) and Bank Staff
Location:Fife-wide
Salary:Salary £15,411 (Unqualified), £15,921 (Qualified) Pro Rata, £7.60 + holiday premium for Bank Staff

Kingdom provides housing and support throughout East Central Scotland. Our Support and Care Service provides a high quality, flexible service to people with a wide range of support and care needs. We are looking for individuals who are interested and committed to assisting vulnerable adults live an independent life. We have vacancies throughout our East and West Fife Services.

Whilst you will work predominately on a one to one basis with service users, you will be part of a staff team providing support and care to service users in accordance with our aims, objectives, ethos and mission statement. You will play a key role in promoting social inclusion, maximising independence and choice for our service users.

We are looking for individuals who have:

  • A motivated and flexible approach to work (which will include lone working, shifts, split shifts, sleep in duties and where necessary waking night cover);
  • Sound values and attitudes;
  • The ability to work with people in a positive and supportive manner;
  • The ability to work on a lone working basis;
  • A willingness to gain a relevant SVQ II qualification is essential

Please note that, some of our services will require you to have the use of a car for work purposes, however other services will only require you to be able to drive Service Users cars, therefore a current full UK driving licence may be required. (not applicable for bank contracts).

If you have previous experience of working with vulnerable adults, this would be desirable.

Bi-lingual Support Workers (Bank Staff) – Do you speak Cantonese/Hakka? Would you like to provide ad hoc support to develop a career in working with older people from minority ethnic communities in Kirkcaldy helping to promote their independence? You should be able to communicate in Cantonese/Hakka and translate from/to English and have an understanding and knowledge of the Chinese culture.

In return for the above we will offer an attractive salary and benefits. Placing on the scale will be dependent on whether you have the relevant qualification as determined by the Scottish Social Services Council. You will be required to be registered as a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
