East, Central & West Fife
Kingdom provides housing and support throughout East Central Scotland. Our Support and Care Service provides a high quality, flexible service to people with a wide range of support and care needs. We are looking for individuals who are interested and committed to assisting vulnerable adults live an independent life.
You will be part of a staff team providing support and care to service users in accordance with our aims, objectives, ethos and mission statement. You will play a key role in promoting social inclusion, maximising independence and choice for our service users.
Falkirk Service
We provide a 24 hour service to supported individuals with autism and challenging behaviour. We are looking for people with a positive person centred approach who have experience of or an interest in this field. This service will require you to be trained in CALM theory and physical intervention techniques, if you have not had any training this will be provided to you. This service involves shift work including sleepovers and would require you to be flexible with your working hours.
Support Workers (Bank Staff) – Fife Wide Hourly rate of £8.25 plus holiday premium
You will provide as required cover in any of our services. The use of a car for work and a current driving licence is preferable.
Bi-lingual Support Workers (Bank Staff) – Do you speak Cantonese/Hakka? Would you like to provide ad hoc support to develop a career in working with older people from minority ethnic communities in Kirkcaldy helping to promote their independence? You should be able to communicate in Cantonese/Hakka and translate from/to English and have an understanding and knowledge of the Chinese culture.
Previous experience of providing care (not necessarily in a work setting) is desirable. We will provide you with training towards an SVQ in Social Care unless already obtained.
You will be placed at the unqualified rate unless you have achieved the relevant qualification as determined by the Scottish Social Services Council. You will need to be registered as a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme for the purpose of regulated work with protected adults. The cost of membership (whether a new or existing member) is borne by you. If you are not already a member the cost will be £59, for existing members this will be £18.
Please note that, some of our services will require you to have the use of a car for work purposes, however other services will only require you to be able to drive Service Users cars, therefore a current full UK driving licence may be required. (not applicable for bank contracts)
