About the Role

As a support worker you will support individuals to deal with the immediate impact of homelessness and thereafter to secure/sustain a tenancy and provide structured and support with life skills. You will monitor health and wellbeing and will be responsible for controlling access to the building, dealing with emergencies and carrying out Health and Safety checks and maintaining standards of cleanliness in the hostel.  In addition to the hostel, you will provide an outreach service throughout Fife to individuals with learning disabilities, mental health issues, substance misuse and alcohol related brain injury in their own homes.

About You

We are looking for passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated support workers who have the desire to want to support people to have the best life possible.  Experience of working within a care environment, ideally with the homeless, and an understanding of the issues faced by homeless people would be desirable. More important is a respectful attitude and the ability to relate to others in a non-judgemental way.

You must be able to support and be flexible in your approach to work and it is essential that you are able to work a rota which includes weekends and waking night shifts.

Applicants must have an SVQ2 in Care or a related field in line with the SSSC registration criteria or be willing to work towards this.

A current driving license and the use of a car for work purposes are essential.
