Your Neighbourhood

Anti-Social Behaviour

There are a number of things that can impact how you feel about your neighbourhood, e.g. the standard of the landscaping or how well you get on with your neighbours. If you are having problems with your neighbours you may, as a first step, wish to speak with them to try to resolve the situation. If this does not help, or if you do not feel comfortable doing this, please contact us for advice.

We are able to help you with incidents of anti-social behaviour which include loud music or parties, dumping litter or rubbish, vandalism, verbal abuse, harassment and discrimination.

We take an evidence based approach to resolving issues to allow us to deal with complaints effectively.

We work with Police Scotland and to share information on criminal behaviour such as drug dealing and will look to take action on the anti-social behaviour it can cause, such as disruption due to excess visitors and noise complaints.

You should tell us:

  • what happened
  • who was involved
  • dates and times of incidents
  • any witnesses
  • if the police were called.

We have a range of tools to address Antisocial Behaviour, including access to a Noise App for your phone to record evidence.  We work with a range of third parties to tackle and resolve antisocial behaviour including local authorities and mediation services.  We can refer customers who are experiencing antisocial behaviour for Home Safety Visits, and other forms of support.

Please see attached our Frequently Asked Questions document and Antisocial Behaviour Policy for more information.

Contact us with details. Our Customer Service Team will be happy to help or refer you to another member of staff if further information and advice is required.

Our Estate Inspectors carry out regular checks of all of our developments but please contact us to report any issues you may have with our landscaping or stair-cleaning services.

Bin Stores

The communal industrial bins are calculated by your local authority based on the number of households in your development. If the bins are full or overflowing then the most likely cause is they’ve been filled with the incorrect rubbish.

Please make sure you recycle your waste correctly. If the waste overflows onto the ground then the local authority will most likely not pick this up.

“Fly tipping”, even if it is leaving bags of waste on the ground is a Legal Offence and you could be fined for this. Fly Tipping Penalties

Dog Fouling

Dog mess is an ongoing litter problem on our footpaths & green spaces. Please be a responsible dog owner and clean up after your dog. It is a criminal offence under the Dog Fouling (Scotland) Act 2003 if you do not pick it up and dispose of it.

You can report anyone who is not picking up after their dog to your local authority and if you can evidence this then the person may be charged. Dog Fouling Legislation

Disposing of Cigarette Butts

Throwing cigarette butts out of your window or discarding them at door entrances is an offence under the littering laws and not nice for your neighbours / visitors.

If we evidence you doing this, it is a breach of your tenancy agreement.

We do not carry out litter picks to pick up cigarette butts and it is not covered under any of our communal cleaning or landscape contracts.
