Stephen Swan

My professional background is rooted in property, covering everything from new builds to operational repairs, maintenance, and cyclical works. I’ve spent years working across high-volume property portfolios, and I bring hands-on experience in building surveying, including specialist knowledge in areas like rot and damp.

One of the contributions I’m most proud of is helping shape the direction of estate management and property repairs. I’ve also supported the organisation in refining its approach to delivering housing services that are both effective and responsive.

As we move forward, I hope to help drive forward our new-build programmes and support the development of property related IT systems that enhance service delivery and efficiency.

I’m passionate about fairness, equal opportunity, and social cohesion. Housing plays a central role in all of these, and I believe that by improving the quality and accessibility of homes, we can make a real difference in people’s lives.

If you’re considering joining a Board, my advice would be to make sure you have the time to truly commit. The organisation benefits most when Board members are engaged and present, and the rewards of contributing are well worth it.
