I studied Architecture in the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture graduating with a masters degree (MArch). I then began work as a building standards surveyor with Aberdeen City Council before moving to the City of Edinburgh Council. In 2020, after five years working in building standards, I changed role to focus on new build affordable housing delivery for the Council. I have been working within their Development and Regeneration team as a senior construction project manager since. As part of my role I have a keen interest in the use of modern methods of construction to deliver high quality, sustainable housing. Placemaking and community lead regeneration are also a key aspect to the work that I lead.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Spend time with my growing family. I compete at a national level in rallying as a co-driver. Enjoy cycling and mountain biking with friends. If there is any spare time I like to work on a house design for a self build house that I may eventually get to undertake.
Why did you want to join the KHA Board?
I wanted to join the board to broaden my experience in the affordable housing sector whilst sharing my own experience and expertise of the policy and regulatory side of affordable housing. I have an interest in learning more about the financial and tenant management areas of the business.
