Kirkcaldy-born David was educated at the University of Glasgow and holds a joint honours degree in Economics and Politics.  Having spent 10 years in financial services, David joined CARF in 2009 as a Money Adviser.  He has held a number of roles in CARF, most recently as Business Development Manager until his internal promotion to CEO in September 2020. David is a Chartered Manager having passed his assessment in 2019.

A lifelong Raith Rovers fan, David enjoys all forms of sport and has a (currently curtailed) passion for travelling in Europe where he has completed marathons in cities including Vienna and Barcelona.

David was appointed as Vice Chair in September 2023.
