The Macmillan coffee morning has been successful across the Country with many companies, schools and clubs a participating and raising funds to support Macmillan Cancer Support’s annual World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
Kingdom Housing Association staff did their bit, when they held coffee morning events in their offices at Cowdenbeath, Dunfermline and Glenrothes on Friday, September 30.
Kingdom believes participating in the Macmillan, coffee morning is a great way to fundraise, bring everyone together, raise awareness and have some fun at the same time.
Staff across the organisation held events to raise funds .
With the planning and organising well under way, the day of the Macmillan Coffee Morning finally arrived and there were many, across all our offices, who had been beavering away all week making their splendid bakes.
This year the event, held at our Glenrothes office, was hosted by our very own HR Team, where the Glenrothes Board room was turned into a cheerful and inviting pop up café, “Spice and Slice”, to allow staff to relax during their tea break, have waitress service and enjoy all the delights on offer while chatting with friends and colleagues.
They were available for waitress service between 10am and 12 noon and any delights left were then available for sale throughout the rest of the day at their takeaway area for these staff members short on time. As part of the “Spice and Slice” cafe, a raffle was organised with a chance to win one of many raffle prizes, which helped boost the funds raised.
The staff in our Cowdenbeath helped raise funds with their coffee morning and the Dunfermline office coffee morning was organised by our support and care team and all the staff contributed and baked cakes and it became clear we have some master bakers in our midst. Service users from the west services were invited to come along and join us and seven people came along, the event was a really successful morning that was really enjoyed by both staff and service users.
The kingdom staff coffee mornings raised a staggering amount of £819.58, with Kingdom topping this up to a total of £1000.
Well done all!!
