The sun was shining for Kingdom Housing Association’s Summer Gathering at Active Kids Adventure Park in Stanley, on the outskirts of Perth. Families with children eager to play and explore the park made the most of the brilliant weather at the free event for tenants.
The biannual Gathering events are a cornerstone of the Association’s tenant participation strategy and give customers the opportunity to speak to a broad range of staff from across the Kingdom Group in a relaxed and informal setting.
Over 150 guests from across Fife, Alloa and Perth heard about the extensive range of free support and advice services available including energy and money advice and Kingdom’s own in-house employability project, Kingdom Works. Information was also available on Kingdom’s participatory budgeting scheme “Choices” which gives customers the choice of how to spend money from a dedicated fund to support ideas that can improve their own lives and their communities.
Susan McDonald, Kingdom’s Executive Director of Operations, attended the event and said, “We were delighted to see so many customers at the Summer Gathering once again this year. Events like this are key to developing strong and meaningful relationships and give us the opportunity to listen to feedback, answer questions, and share information about the range of support services Kingdom offers including money and energy advice. The cost of living crisis is an issue facing all of us and I’m proud that Kingdom is able to offer ongoing help and advice as we pursue our mission of providing more than a home.”
Susan added, “I know that family days out are often one of the first things to go when belts are tightened, so being able to offer free events like the Summer Gathering for our communities is something that really make a huge difference.”
Mr McGrath, a Kingdom tenant from Cardenden said, “It was very kind and considerate of Kingdom Housing Association to organise this free event in such a nice venue, a big open park with great activities for kids and we got lots of extra gifts too. Everybody made us feel welcome from the start. Kingdom staff were friendly and attentive, the park was clean and their staff was welcoming. It really was a lovely family day out! Thank you very much Kingdom.”
Join Our Scrutiny Panel And Help Us Deliver Customer Service Excellence
Kingdom Housing’s award-winning Scrutiny Panel was established by a group of tenants in August 2016. Since then, the Panel has worked on a voluntary basis to independently scrutinise the performance and standards of services provided across the Kingdom Group. This has led the Panel to investigate areas such as planned maintenance, landscaping services and the way we involve customers in rent setting. The Panel also plays an important role in our annual performance review, biannual satisfaction surveys and examining our annual return on the Scottish Social Housing Charter.
