Kingdom Housing Association Supports Road Safety Week 2020

Brake is a national road safety charity, founded in 1995, that exists to stop the needless deaths and serious injuries that happen on roads every day, make streets and communities safer for everyone, and care for families bereaved and injured in road crashes.

Brake promotes road safety awareness, safe and sustainable road use, and effective road safety policies. They do this through national campaigns, community education, and in workplaces for road safety professionals and employers, and by coordinating the UK’s flagship road safety event every November. This year the campaign runs from 16-22 November.

Dave Roy, Kingdom’s Health and Safety Officer said: “Kingdom has supported Road Safety Week annually for a number of years and we’re proud to be involved with the 2020 campaign. At Kingdom our mission is to provide ‘More Than a Home’ and part of that is helping to build safer communities. Each year thousands of communities and organisations get involved across the UK to spread awareness and help prevent needless tragedies on our roads. We believe that road safety is of paramount importance not only to our employees, tenants, and clients but to every road user and pedestrian.”

Dave added: “We are keen to help raise awareness of the importance of responsible driving, with the ultimate goal of reducing accidents wherever possible so this year we will promote this through our website and social media. We’ll also be promoting road safety to our staff through elearning modules and we will be emailing road safety messages to our drivers.”
