Staff at Kingdom Housing Association have raised an impressive £1500 for Macmillan by taking part in the cancer charity’s ‘world’s biggest coffee morning’.
Kingdom employees got busy baking and brewing to support the event at the association’s Glenrothes headquarters and premises across the company.
Leigh Shearer, one of the event organisers, said: “When I was asked if I would like to be one of the organisers of the event, I had no hesitation in accepting. Like most people, I have family and friends who have been affected by cancer. If we all work together we can hopefully make an impact and provide more money for research, improve the treatments available, as well as providing support to both the person suffering from cancer and their family and friends.”
Bill Banks, Kingdom’s chief executive, praised all the staff and supporters for their efforts.
He said: “There was a great buzz in our offices and to raise £1500 was a tremendous result.”
Bill also thanked a number of construction businesses for their support including: Benarty Construction Contracts Ltd, Crombie Plumbing and Heating, C & D Plumbing Ltd and A K Moyes Joiner & Building Contractors.
