Iain Connelly

KHA Board member since May 2016, KI Director since October 2016 - After qualifying, Iain joined Sir Frank Mears & Partners in 1978. He moved to Terrance Oliver Architects, Dunfermline in 1979 where he worked on residential, industrial and commercial projects. In 1983 he joined Dunfermline District Council, progressing to Principal Architect with responsibility for the award winning restoration of Abbot House, Dunfermline and the new Dalgety Bay Library.  In 1996 Iain became Area Manager for Fife Council, leading a large, multi-disciplinary, practice. In March 2002 he became Head of Property Services with over 200 staff. Iain represented Fife Council on the Society of Chief Architects in Local Authorities and was its first Scotland President (2004-2006). On RIAS Council since 2004, Iain sat on the Consultancy Committee and was Vice-Convenor of the Government and Consultancy Committee. Throughout his career he has campaigned to promote to promote the benefits of well-designed buildings.  Iain was President of the Royal Incorporation from 2013 to 2015.
