| Main Street, Milton of Balgonie - Affordable Housing Proposal Goes To Appeal 15 January 2009 |
| The proposed development promises a mix of family houses and cottages for older people – including two bungalows specially designed for wheelchair users. Bill Banks, Depute Chief Executive of Kingdom, expressed disappointment with the Council’s decision. ’’There is a great need for more affordable houses in the village, and our proposal would represent a major benefit to those local households on the Housing waiting list’’. Under the terms of the Fife Housing Association Alliance, Kingdom would build the houses for Glen Housing Association, the Glenrothes – based community Housing Association. Anne Dickie, Director of Glen, confirmed the benefits of the proposal. ’’This is a great opportunity to help families, and strengthen the local community – it would be sad to pass that up’’. The Appeal outcome will come later this year. |
